Djavan McGinty, RBT
Djavan “Jovi” McGinty joined the ABLE Kids family in September, 2018. She graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelors of Science in Sociology in 2016. She plans to pursue a masters degree in social work for at risk children and families. She worked as a teacher, youth cheer coach, camp counselor, tutor and mentor throughout her life. She has always had a passion for working with children because they are so eager to learn, grow and it’s always super fun! Having had a sibling with a mental disability, Djavan learned the importance of respecting differences and always appreciated the care and support that her caregivers/teachers gave to them. She hopes to provide that same care and support to the families we serve. She lives by the motto “be selfless, be caring, be honest” and applies that to her work every day.
Djavan was Born in Germany, and mainly grew up in Severn, Maryland. She recently moved back to Augusta, Georgia from Memphis, Tennessee after working as a pre-school teacher in a Christian school. She currently resides with her family and her dog, Ginger. Djavan is excited to enter this field and hopes to continue making a difference in children’s and families lives.
